Eagle Vale is a Sydney suburb which sits just 56km south-west of the city’s central business district. It has a population of almost 6,000 people and is part of the Macarthur region.

History

Eagle Vale is named after two creeks that flowed through the area, Eagle Creek and Valebrook. In 1826, a wealthy widow named Jemima Jenkins bought a property in the area from Thomas Clarkson and used the name Eagle Vale in her address. The name was forgotten for a long time but was re-established in 1976.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Eagle Vale is a small town but has many commercial, recreational and leisure facilities. These include a busy shopping centre, a library, gym and aquatic centre.

There are also many parks and reserves, including the Thomas Clarkson Reserve, named after the settler who originally established a farm in the area.
