Douglas Park is a town in Wollondilly Shire in the Macarthur Region of New South Wales. 80km southwest of Sydney, it has a population of over 1,250 people.

History

The town is in the traditional lands of the Gandangara and Tharawal people. The first European settlement in the area was named Hoare Town.

Dr. Henry Grattan Douglass and Jean Baptiste de Arrieta owned the two largest land grants in the district in the mid-1800s. Douglass later gave his name to the town. The current spelling without the final “s” is due to a cartographer’s mistake.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Douglas Park has a general store which includes a post office. The store is next to a service station and a café.

There is also a sports ground in the town that is home to the Douglas Park-Wilton Razorbacks Soccer Football Club and the Douglas Park Little Athletics Club. The ground also has two tennis courts.
