Cherrybrook is a fast growing suburb in New South Wales with an estimated population of 18,700. It is situated 27 kilometres north-west of Sydney’s central business district and is a great place to live for families and professionals alike.

History

The name Cherrybrook is believed to come from cherry trees grown by a man called Joseph Harrison and his wife Mary Ann Thompson. They both lived in the area in 1839 and built a timber cottage, which they called Cherrybrook Cottage.

Cherrybrook has many streets that are named after historical figures and local landowners, as well as native plants and trees. The naming of these streets took place around 1959.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The suburb is home to the Cherrybrook Shopping Centre with lots of shops and restaurants. You can also find plenty of specialty stores, cafes and supermarkets in the area.

Cherrybrook doesn’t have a railway station but it is serviced by buses. There are many schools and churches in this convenient town too.
