Chatswood is a part of the Lower North Shore of Sydney, located just 10km north of the Sydney central business district. It has a population of over 21,000 people and is known as a major residential and business district.

History

Richard Harnett, The Mayor of Willoughby, was one of the first explorers to visit the area now known as Chatswood and he named what was then a heavily wooded area after his wife. Her nickname was ‘Chattie’ and ‘Chattie’s Wood’ became shortened over time to Chatswood.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

As one of the North Shore’s main commercial and retail sectors, visitors can expect a busy town centre with plenty of shops and stores, mainly located along Victoria Avenue.

Chatswood is also bursting with restaurants and cafes and it is a favourite destination for foodies who come to the area in search of exciting cuisine from around the world.
