History

In the early 19th century, a parish in Sydney was named Bringelly. This parish included several suburbs. By 1818, much of the area was granted to settlers who began farming.

In 1857, the Luddenham Post office opened. In 1863, the name changed to Bringelly Post Office. In 1880, Bringelly opened a public school.
