How does 3D Work?

3D TV's are meant to send a different image into each of your eyes so that your brain can process them and turn the two different 2D inputs into one merged 3 dimensional one.
What is 3D?

It is in fact one image for the left eye and another one for the right eye, slightly offset from one and another. Without glasses, 3D looks like 'double vision'. By putting on the 3D glasses the shutter alternates each eye at 120 times per second. This creates perception of a single image with depth in 3D.
