Annangrove is a suburb in Sydney’s Hills Shire. It is around 42km north-west of the Sydney CBD, and has a population of 1,370 according to the 2011 census.

History

The suburb is named after Annangrove House, which was the home of Edward Charles Johnston. He named his house after his place of birth, Annan in Scotland. Annangrove was first home to the timber-cutting industry and orchards, before officially becoming Annangrove in 1895.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

The suburb is predominantly residential, although there are a few eateries and plant shops in the area. Annangrove has a Muslim Prayer Centre as well, which opened in 2004. The nearest shopping area is in the adjacent Rouse Hill. Scheyville National Park and the Rouse Hill Regional Park are just a short drive away.
