About The Foot Clinic

AT A GLANCE
  • Quality podiatric care
Aching feet, growing feet, foot & ankle pain, VIdeo treadmill gait analysis, orthotics, foot function foot pressure diagnostics.
The Foot Clinic is a specialised clinic where health professionals, known as podiatrists, diagnose and treat specific foot and lower limb conditions. They also advise on how to prevent future foot problems occurring. At The Foot Clinic the focus is on family and sports podiatry.

Foot Function Assessment

Through our assessment procedures we can identify abnormalities & joint alignment problems in the feet, knees and hips. The use of the highly specialised video gait analysis equipment allows our probationers to identify more specifically the problems that relate to poor foot function as well as illustrating to you the specific features of your foot type first hand.

Sporty Feet

Young or old, professional or non-professional, at The Foot Clinic we take a special interest in sports medicine and are familiar with the wide range of lower limb overuse injuries associated with individual sporting activities. The use of high speed video cameras and F-scan enables a more specific gait analysis to be undertaken.

Highly Stressed Feet

Diabetes, arthritis, congenital abnormalities, missing toes, poor circulation, numbness. All these conditions can stress feet out to the maximum. Knowing how these conditions affect your feet allows better foot health management. We can advise you how best to care for your specific condition.

FAQs

  • What is a foot function assessment?

An assessment is where we look at your foot function. We can assess how your feet work in relation to the rest of your body and the activities you do. The Podiatrist undertakes this detailed examination taking numerous measurements of all the joints, muscles and bones of your feet, knees and hips. We use a video gait analysis system in the clinic, which allows us to identify more specifically your type of foot problem or concern.

  • Why are your orthoses so expensive compared to other practices?

Orthoses range in price depending on what they are made from and how they have been customised to meet your individual requirements / prescription for your feet.

  • Why should I choose the foot clinic to look after me?

The team here are all members of Sports Medicine Australia. In the practice we have a dedicated professional development program that keeps our practitioners up to date with the latest developments not only in Australia but worldwide. Apart from practitioner skills we have rooms that have been fitted out with the latest technologies in a modern decor that will make you feel well looked after (including our specialised espresso maker & our welcoming front office team).

  • I've got plantar fasciitis what can you do to help me?

Plantar fasciitis is a condition we see most often and treat successfully at clinic. Our practitioners see this problem on a daily basis and it is one of the conditions that responds very well to the treatment we prescribe. We would need to see you for a foot function assessment.

  • How come your first visit is so expensive compared to other podiatry practices?

We offer a longer consultation time than most practices so we can provide a more detailed examination of your feet utilising some of the latest gait technologies. (Highly specialised pieces of equipment). We also like to give you the time to ask us questions and for us to have the time to help educate you about your condition and the best course of action for you to take.

  • Computerised orthotics?

Our practitioners have chosen not to use computerised orthotics. We use a modified version of manufacturing orthotics that combines some computerisation. We feel that our current method of prescribing orthotics allows us to be more specialised and tailored to meet the needs of each individuals feet.

  • Do you use laser treatment on fungal nails?

Laser Treatment for fungal nails has certainly been considered by our practitioners. Currently research results are indicating mixed success rates in this method of treatment. So at the moment we are choosing not to use this method of treatment. There are several other types of treatments for fungal nails so please have a chat with one of our Podiatrist about the most suitable method of treatment for your fungal nails.
